NEET Counselling Process 2023

Step 1: Registration

  • Candidates who have qualified for the NEET UG exam need to register for the counseling process.
  • The registration process usually begins a few days after the release of the NEET UG results.
  • To register, candidates need to visit the official website of the counseling conducting authority and provide their details, including their NEET roll number, name, contact details, etc.
  • Candidates also need to pay the counseling registration fee at this stage.

Step 2: Choice Filling and Locking

  • Once registered, candidates need to fill in their choices of colleges and courses based on their preferences.
  • Candidates can select as many colleges and courses as they wish.
  • It is important to note that the choices need to be filled in order of preference, with the most preferred option at the top.
  • Once the choices are filled, candidates need to lock their choices, after which they cannot be modified.

Step 3: Seat Allotment

  • Based on the choices filled and the candidate's NEET rank, seats will be allotted to candidates.
  • The seat allotment process will take place in multiple rounds, depending on the number of vacant seats.
  • Candidates can accept or reject the seat allotted to them.
  • If the candidate accepts the seat, they need to pay the admission fee and report to the allotted college for further admission process.

Step 4: Reporting to the Allotted College

  • After the seat is allotted and the admission fee is paid, candidates need to report to the allotted college within the given time frame.
  • Candidates need to carry all the required documents, including the original and photocopies, to complete the admission process.
  • The documents that need to be carried may include the NEET scorecard, admit card, mark sheets of class 10th and 12th, caste certificate (if applicable), etc.

Step 5: Second Round of Counselling (if applicable)

  • If a candidate is not satisfied with the seat allotted to them in the first round, they can participate in the second round of counseling.
  • In the second round, candidates can again fill their choices and go through the seat allotment process.
  • The same steps as the first round will be followed in the second round.

Step 6: Mop-Up Round (if applicable)

  • If after the second round of counseling, there are still vacant seats left, a mop-up round of counseling may be conducted.
  • In the mop-up round, seats will be allotted to candidates who are eligible but did not get any seat in the first two rounds of counseling.
  • The mop-up round is the last round of counseling, and no further rounds will be conducted after this.

That's it! These are the steps involved in the NEET UG Counselling Procedure for 2023. It is important to keep track of the important dates and deadlines and ensure that all the required documents are in place.
